Easter cards

I started making Easter cards for a fund raising event in Singapore for my nephew’s school. I am not a very religious person on a daily basis but I must say that God must have totally led and inspired me for the following cards because i did not start out making a religious card but ended up making 2 I liked very much!

I used Spellbinders Heart and Flutter stencil to cut out 2 heart, one in black and 1 in white which I stuck together. I then used a pearl pen to make the cross. The bible verse John 3:16 just seemed appropriate as an Easter message for this card and its probably the only verse i still remember by heart! I entered this into

rugged cross

The Old Rugged Cross is probably one of my favourite non-Christmas hymns which I printed a copy and used Versafine’s Vintage Sepia to sponge a faded look. I manually cut a cross from Ikea’s cork placemats (cheaper than buying the ones in craft stores!), which incidentally are good to use as embossing mats when you want to emboss using your stencils or dies!

Hope you liked them!

  1. Two very traditional Easter cards. I love that hymn too. The last time I heard it being sung was at my Grandmothers funeral…….many many years ago. Thank you for sharing them with us at Crafting with Dragonflies. Wynn DT
