Scraps card

I have a huge pile of scraps in a box, consisting of figures I die cut that didn’t go with the particular card I had in mind, or cards I painted/stamped/created and didn’t like the overall effect in the end ( I have MANY of those)!  So today I gave myself a personal challenge to make a card using only my scraps! My daughter liked it so much she wanted to keep it for a friend’s birthday. She also said she was so impressed that I could made a card so quickly (under 15 minutes)!

The Happy Birthday die cut cut from Memory Box stitched Happy Birthday rectangle, was cut from a card that I had sponged the background with SU Pacific point, then I stencilled some butterflies on it using my metal effect paint. I really love the effect it gives to the Happy Birthday! The card is actually pastel pink but it came out salmon in the photo! The other die cuts are from Sizixx Bigz L Die Everyday Essentials.

I entered this card in:

Clear It out challenge  –  Its great they have this type of challenges but I wonder if they mean to use old stamps/dies? If not, I should join this challenge more often to clear out my scraps!

  1. Gwendolyn, this looks so arty, and I love when you find the perfect scrap to create the perfect card!! Love the mixture of colour and texture you get from the patterned papers against the black, yet still so beautifully CAS! Wonderful that you could join us at CASology this week!
