Craft corner

As my mum is here and sleeping in our guest/craft room and our dining table needs to be used for…dining, I bought a small table and bench to try and create a small craft corner for me in the living room. I could have gone downstairs to our spacious playroom or bedroom, but my hubby likes to see me craft in the midst of the family…and I think I get more inspired with all the activity around me too!

Right beside the best view in the house! The table might look small but as I don’t like working with everything strewed around me either, it works fine for me!

And when we have guests, I just put everything in the drawers and wheel my stamp/die racks to the guest room and voila…the table and bench become just another side table/seat!

The first card I made on it was inspired by the photo inspiration over at The Card Concept and the colours at My Favourite Things

I love the soft colours of both and the vintage feel and the flower in the delicate teacup which I tried to replicate in my card below.

I first inked in blue some text from The Crafter’s Workshop “Mini Art Is” stencil. I stamped a flower border from Prima Tales “Of you and Me” and proceeded to sponge a little pink and beige on the card over everything. I then stamped the peony from Stampers Anonymous Flower garden set and shaded it with my water pen. I heat embossed the sentiment from Becca Cruger’s Big Grin’s “Strong Women” (I just love that set of sentiments), in gold on black paper to replicate the black stand in the photo inspiration. I’m not sure what style this is, shabby chic?

Its the first time I’ve done anything so delicate and I hope you like it too!

I thought this card would also be appropriate for the challenge over at
