Watercolour cards

I decided to try my flower shading skills again to see if I have progressed, although I don’t see why I would have, as I still haven’t started my water colouring lessons that I have waiting for me on Creativebug! But there is this beautiful lily in my garden that has been calling out to me for days now, so here I go!

Luckily I have this lily stamp from Stamplorations, which I stamped 4 times with my Misti, as I wanted to participate in the Less Is More Repetition challenge and I only used orange as I wanted to join in the Stamplorations CAS challenge too! I tried a different form of colouring for each Lily. For the first top right hand flower, I first coloured my stamp with Tombow markers, spritz water on it and stamped it on the card but I didn’t like the effect and ended up using my Tombow pens and water pen to colour it in. The top left flower was stamped with Stampin Up ink, coloured in and I went over the edges with my red Tombow pen to give a little more definition than the one on the right. The bottom left flower was also stamped with Stampin Up inks but the bottom left is a little messy as I tried mirror image stamping, but the ink didn’t transfer back to the card! The bottom right was simply coloured with my Tombow markers and stamped as is. My sentiment is a wafer thin die cut from Stamplorations, cut from a card stock coloured with Brushos. Stamplorations just came out with die cuts and they’re fabulous! I added a little sparkle onto my sentiment with my Sakura transparent gel pen. I wish I had some clear sequins or half pearls to decorate, but I only had my pearl pens which unfortunately left blotches instead of beautiful drops of pearls! Sigh…

I hope you like the card anyway!
