Don’t stop believin’

I love this song by Journey, I’m actually listening to it now while I write this post! Thanks to the musical series “Glee”, my kids know it too, along with other greats from the 80s and 90s. I really love it that our kids enjoy the songs we used to love…and I try to enjoy the songs they listen to too. Although I think they get embarassed when I’m going mad on the danse floor to electro house music!

So when I saw that CASology’s theme was “Journey”, my first thought was to make a card incorporating the title of this song!

I first wrote the sentiment with my Versamark pen and heat embossed it with pink embossing powder. I masked a lilac card stock with a negative die cut of a butterfly and sprinkled Brushos powder in it, (just love them!) spritzed water on the powders and let the magic happen. I used my water pen and stampin up ink to create some water drops. Its my first time so its not so neat! I used clear glue/gel to create the water drops and the card was finished! Unfortunately I saw that there was a yellow tinge in the photo and yes it was also on the card, hardly perceivable, but it was there, and I have no idea how it got there! Sigh…

I had a butterfly lying around which was cut with my Sizzix die, from paper that was previously coloured with Brushos and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. My daughter found it prettier with it so I stuck it on.

  1. What a beautiful butterfly with such depth of color from the Brusho powder! I love that you handwrote the sentiment. Sadly, my handwriting is almost illegible even to me! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
