Using many bright colours of the rainbow is not really in my comfort zone, but my hubby’s Aunt Begonia, who is visiting from Spain with her family, liked these colours and I wanted to make a card for her, as she is truly an amazing woman. She raised one blind son to become an independant, outgoing man, who is currently working on his doctorate in computer science, and another to persue his dreams as a musicien. And even though she works full time as a teacher, she still manages to have such a well kept house! She is always full of optimism and life, and truly an inspiration to me!
Using my Misti, I first stamped in the flowers, from Stamplorations Boxed Blooms series, with Versamark on a white card stock, and heat embossed the images with clear pearly embossing powder. I sponged in Stampin Up’s inks with Ranger mini blending tool, spritzed lots of water on it and added lemon brusho powder in the middle. I cut out a square piece from this coloured card with a stiched border die from MFT Blueprint 20, and adhered it with foam tape to another white card stock. I stamped the sentiment from Technique Junkie on a light blue designer paper with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I cut out the double ended flag using a die from the same MFT set.
I finished off by dropping afew drops of clear glue/gel on the coloured panel to create the water drops look.
She really liked the card and told my hubby I was an artist! I was really touched as she herself creates many beautiful decorations for her school’s events.
