Its my birthday and I’ll cry if I want to, cry if I want to….except I’ll be crying of joy! They started spoiling me last night with a candle light bath that my son had prepared for me, then my fav dishes for dinner, chilli crab and durian!
This morning I woke up to a great breakfast and this birthday card!
I was so touched. A birthday card made up of some of the cards I had made! They had to go through my whole blog to find the cards and it was also so nice to see my cards together, most of which had already been given away. It really made my day!
Before my hubby whisks me off to a spa, I just wanted to post this card I made last weekend. Its the first time I’ve made a shaker card and it really took me a long time to do it! I had to discard quite afew tries before I managed to get what I wanted!
As the shaker window is completely transparant, you can see the reflections behind me when I took the pic! Lol! I also went overboard with the shaker “stuffings” too I think! Heres the method I used to do this card. Apart from the challenge of making a shaker card I also wanted to make this a bright and cheerful card to offset the dark coloured card stock I need to use up. To make the colourful sentiment, I used my new Stamplorations cutplorations die on fun foam, with double sided tape on both sides of the foam. So once it was cut, I stuck the sentiment on the card, peeled off the other adhesive on the die cut and sprinkled the colourful little “stones” (i have no idea what they’re called!) on it. This gives it a really candy look i think! The words “you’re” was originally stamped on, but they took so long to dry that it smeared while i was adding the sequins in the shaker pocket. So I hand wrote the words. I heard Stazon ink is better for acetate so I just ordered one! I added the flower, which i had painted with brushos and cut with my Sizzix die.
Heres a close up with a white background i temporarily added so you could see it without part of my face in the reflection!
OK gotta go and thanks for stopping by. Oh btw Heres where we’ll be spending the day!
