Cards

1st Christmas card!

Its only October but I decided I would have to start making Christmas cards if I want to have enough to give to friends AND have enough to sell them at my first market participation! Yes, I will be testing my cards out to see if they are good enough to be sold in a small German Christmas fair this year.

This card was made using a new die I received, which is from Spellbinders. I cut it from paper I had previously painted using my also new Gelli plate. Unfortunately I haven’t managed to create really beautiful pieces to use as a background, but they work well to cut dies, I think! I added more reds and browns to the die cut but the rest I left untouched. I added the bottom design using an Efco stencil and my perfect pearls powder. The beautiful sentiment from Penny Black was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed it with this fabulous embossing powder from WoW, that I think is just perfect for Christmas!

It creates a gold and red sparkly effect that is simply beautiful! I adhered the panel onto the card before adding the die cut wreath on it to finish. I used the sketch from MFT Sketch challenge to create this card.

I’m finally able to play along in all the Christmas challenges out there!

  1. Such a pretty card and I just love that embossed sentiment. It’s a great idea to use your gelli plate prints for die cutting!
Thanks for sharing with us at Happy Little Stampers and I hope you will join us again soon.
