Today is St Nikolaus in Germany. The kids leave their shoes out so that St Nikolaus can leave them a little gift of normally oranges, chocolates and peanuts! In our children’s school, the PTA helps St Nikolaus distributes these gifts the evening before. So last night I felt like a little German Elf distributing 200 little bags into neatly arranged shoes! I wish I could have seen their faces this morning when they found their little bag of treats! So begins the season of Christmas celebrations!
I made this card in the spirit of the season so I wanted something bright and sparkly. I first put gold acrylic paste through a Darice stencil, let it dry overnight, and then used it as a resist to sponge in some Distress inks and Momento dew drop inks. I lined the edges of a card with my favourite Washi tape and placed the panel I had first cut with My Favourite Things stitched rectangle from Blueprints 20 set, on it. I cut the blue shiny circle using Simon Says Stamp stitched circle die to add more bling on my card, and finished it with the Celebrate sentiment, also from Simons Says Stamp, which I cut from a gold card stock.
I love how the sponged colours make it look like a colourful flower!
