Water colour Thank you

I made some thank you cards for one of my customers using a water colour wash background technique. I’ve been dying to try it out and finally put brush to water using Stampin’Up inks and normal acrylic paints. I followed this technique by Scraps and Stamps and even though my result is nowhere as nice as hers, I rather do like them! I apologise in advance for the poor quality of the photos but it was dark when i finished and as they had to be packed straight away, I couldn’t take better pics.

I first stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Technique Junkies with Wow embossing powder. I then wet the area where I wanted to paint with a wet brush and used the brush to paint the background with my Stampin Up inks. The paper is still a little warped in this pic but i’ve since flattened it under a heavy marble slab!

This next one was done using normal acrylic paints and as you can tell the colour is more vibrant. watercolour-acrylic-black

Unfortunately it sort of made my stamped sentiment go grey so I had to go  over it with my Tombow marker. I cut the panel with MFT scalloped rectangle die and adhered it to a chipboard.

I’m not 100% satisfied with what I did but its not bad for a first try I think!

Thanks for stopping by!
