Crafty friend in need

Just a quick post today to share a card I made for a fellow crafter in Blogland who lost all her crafting supplies (and everything else) when her house burnt down! Objects-wise, after the photos of my kids pre-Cloud period, losing all my craft supplies would upset me the most I think. So I hope this card and some supplies I’ll be sending her will bring her some joy.

I made this card as soon as I saw Jennifer McGuire’s latest post over at the Altenew Release blog hop. I have perfect pearls but never really knew how to use them properly as they get my card so messy! Although there is a slight halo around the flamingo on my card, if you follow her instructions, its not that messy after all. I will be doing this more often as the shine is incredible, and it allows me to do stamping on darker coloured cards. The stamps and card come from Hero Arts.

Before I go, here’s another pic of Day 2 of my drawing lessons. I learnt about values, contrast, space and perspective. He makes us practise drawing a lot, which is good, but doesn’t really explain why we have to put a shading on an object to make something round or flat or…he probably wants us to get comfortable drawing before getting muddled with theory? We’ll see…

My apple and eggs look weird I know but this time it was copying his image, so not as easy as copying his every move!

Thanks for stopping by and I really appreciate your comments! By the way I just opened a Facebook account for all my crafty creations, so please follow me there if you are more a Facebook person!
