New Calling All Sistahs Challenge & new Design Team!

I have 2 exciting news to bring to you today!

Firstly, theres a new challenge at the Calling All Sistahs blog called the Encouragement Challenge starting on the 18th of each month! It will be a monthly challenge based on a photo inspiration to create an encouragement card with no product and no genre restrictions. You can read more on how to play by popping over to the Calling All Sistahs blog.

Secondly, I’m part of the new Design Team called The Encouragement Squad! I’m so glad I can finally tell this news as I was sworn to secrecy till today! I’m soooo excited and happy as its my first stint on a DT.  I’m being introduced over at the Calling All Sistahs blog today so do go over if you want to know more about me! I’m especially happy that I’m on the DT for a challenge to make cards that help cheer people up, a challenge with a cause, right up my street!

I used the beautiful CAS-ual Friday products to make 2 cards to celebrate this new exciting role. It shows my favourite ways of making cards. The first is with heat embossing. I love embossing powders, especially Wow embossing powders, I must have at least 20 of their powders! I stamped the gorgeous flower from the Mon Ami set with Versamark and sprinkled it with Emerald City glitter before heat embossing it. I then coloured it in with a silver pencil and added the lines with a sparkly pen.

The flower chain from the Lovely Greetings set was heat embossed using Tafetta Pink glitter and the awesome sentiment from the same set was heat embossed using the Silver powder.

For my next card, I used the same Mon Ami stamp set to show how you can play around with this pretty flower and give it a completely different look. I used my Zigs clean color real brushes and Prismacolour pencils as they are my favourite products to colour flowers with. I went over all the flowers with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to give everything a sparkle.

I took this with a flash so you could see the sparkle!
