I am so honoured to be a Guest Designer over at CASology. It is my first time so I was thrilled when Melissa asked me if I wanted to be a GD as part of the prize for having won their challenge with this card.
The theme for this week’s challenge is Medicine and it was not an easy one for me at all as I did not have any medicine type stamps! So I decided to play on the word “Medicine” using the sentiment as the focal point of the card.
I first stamped “Laughter”, using Altenew’s painted alphabet set, with Versamark, before heat embossing it with 2 different Wow Embossing powders, as I wanted it to resemble an Aspirin pill! The rest of the sentiment was made using my Dymo label writer.
I also wanted the card to be funny and it cracked me up to think of an old albeit sleepy owl “dispensing” (get the pun?) advice about laughter. So I used the cute little sleepy owl stamp from Create A Smile and coloured it with my Zigs.
The purple lines representing a tree trunk was a last minute addition when I realised I had stained my card! I then cut the sides of my card with my fancy scissors to add some interest.
So I hope you got a small laugh or at least a smile from my card and do go over to CASology and play along with us!
Thanks for stopping by and I love reading all the kind comments you leave!
