Colouring with Zigs & Prismacolor

I made these 2 cards late one night when inspiration hit me just before I was going to bed. I get most of my inspirations at night so I end up sleeping too late and then I’m tired the whole day and lose my mojo… Why can’t I wake up in the mornings and cry “Eureka! I have the perfect idea for a perfect design!” and then I’ll have the whole day to do it.

watercolor heart zigs

This first one was with my Zig watercolor brushes. I die cut a heart using a Xcut die, to use as a mask and stamped the sentiment from Penny Black’s Hug set, first with Versamark before adding Wow embossing powder on it, to create a resist when I started colouring with my Zig clean color real brushes.

I love how the Zigs create such luminous colours!

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Simply-Irresistible Simply Irresistible Challenge – Just make a card with the Resist technique to enter this challenge!

My next card is completely different as you can see, but it didn’t take very long for me to make it either and I really enjoyed colouring with my Prisma color pencils. The colour doesn’t get absorbed by dark coloured paper and really stands out against the black card don’t you think?

silver embossed flowers

I used Penny Black Delicate Florals stamps for this which I stamped in Versamark and then added silver Wow embossing powder before heating it with my heat gun.  I then went in with my color pencils and just coloured the edges of the flowers.

To create some extra sparkle, I went over all the flowers with my  Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush and I love how they shine! I stamped the sentiment from Stamplorations also with Versamark and then heat embossed using Wow embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards. Leave me a comment to let me know what you think!
