Its the 17th of the month and my Sistahs over at Calling All Sistahs Encouragement blog, & I want to remind you to check yourselves as a prevention against breast cancer. This month I made a bookmark for my mother-in-law, hoping that she’ll think of checking herself or scheduling that mammography every time she looks at the bookmark.
Ever since I joined Michele & my other Sistahs over at CASual Friday Stamps in this monthly reminder posts, I too check myself while I’m writing this post, so I hope you’ll do it too while reading it!
I first made the Hope ribbon using Alcohol inks & shaving foam in this method here and I die cut it with my Ruffled Ribbon die from the CAS-ual Friday Stamps Breast Cancer Awareness collection. Michele donates 50% of all profits from this collection to the National Breast Cancer Association! Isn’t that amazing!
I then adhered it to my bookmark which I cut from a shiny card stock, with my craft scissors and stamped the sentiment from the Calling All Sistahs stamp set with StazOn black ink. I made a hole for the ribbon using a die from their Scallop Tags set and added a piece of ribbon I had lying around for years, so I’m so happy to be able to finally use it! :))
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll pop over to the Calling All Sistahs blog to leave my Sistahs some love too, and make sure to come back tomorrow for a new Encouragement Challenge!
P.S The cookbook I used as a prop for my bookmark is my fav cook book on Singaporean cooking called “Plus Six Five” (cause thats the International area code for Singapore), and has all the yummy local dishes so difficult to find outside of Singapore.
I’m entering this bookmark in:
