Its that time if the month again ladies, time to check yourselves! Breast Cancer is not contagious, but you can catch it early… if you check yourself monthly and go for regular check ups. This reminder was started by the amazing Michele at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, after she was diagnosed with Cancer. You can read her story here.
Since then, a bunch of us Sistahs make cards as a fun way to remind you to feel em up! You can see their cards over at the CAS-ual Fridays Calling All Sistahs blog. This month I made a quick & easy card as I have started my intensive German lessons again, 4h every day…, so my brain is a “little” foggy from all that
senseless interesting grammar (why does the article of a chair have to change depending on whether you’re walking by it or sitting on it…).
Anyways, I started by stamping afew sentiments from the “Calling All Sistahs” stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps with Versamark clear ink and then heat embossed it with Wow silver embossing powder. I then sponged in Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink, making it a little darker around the word “Girl”. I used the scallop rectangle from MFT’s Blueprint 20 die set, to cut my panel and adhered it to a silver card base.
I stamped & coloured the lotus from the “Mon Ami” stamp set with my Zigs clean color real brush and die cut it with the coordinating die. To create the blue strip, I just sponged a piece of scrap paper with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and used a silver marker to draw two lines on it before cutting it into a strip. I stuck the strip onto my card and the lotus onto it and my card was finished!
Well I hope you’ll remember to feel em up and if you need an extra reminder, I’ll send this to you! Just leave me a comment and let me know. Pop over to my Sistahs at the Calling All Sistahs blog and remember to join in our Encouragement challenge which starts tomorrow 18th September!
Thanks for stopping by and I love reading your comments!
