This card was made to order to thank a very generous parent couple who have been providing free drinks to all our PTA events in school. It was hard for me to come up with a fairly neutral card which would be nice but not too feminine or masculine. And as they own a local supermarket in town, I wanted to impress them too, so I had to make a card that would be more “commercial” than artistic but I hope I managed to do both with this card.

I was inspired by the challenge at CAS Mix Up Card challenge which was requiring to use two stencils, stamping and another technique while keeping it clean and simple! So I first brushed in some distress oxide inks, with my smallest stencil brush, through the beautiful Peony Number 1 stencil from Stamplorations. To add some interest, I coloured in some detail with my Prismacolor pencils.  This is the first time I’m using this stencil and I’m in love with it as peonies are my FAVOURITE flowers, so I can’t wait to play around with it more!

I then laid the butterfly stencil from Efco on top of my Peony and added gold embossing paste through it. Once it was thoroughly dry, I stamped in the German “Thank You” stamp from Efco, added my panel onto a blue card base and the card was done! (The little dot on the flower is a gold one but unfortunately it looks like a black spot!)

I hope they will like it and I hope you liked it too! Thanks for stopping by and I really love reading your comments.0aablog-signature2-1

the flower challenge The Flower Challenge – Its their 1st birthday celebration and the theme is “Use your favourite flower”, so I used a peony of course as I LOVE them! They are having so many prizes this month and all of them so amazing. But if Random org chooses me, I would pick the prize from Power Poppy as I don’t have any of their products yet.
