Calling All Sistahs – Time to check yourselves!

calling all sistahs

Its that time of the month, time to check yourselves! My “sistahs” and I at Calling All Sistahs Encouragement challenge blog are back again for your monthly reminder. AND October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month so if you haven’t scheduled your yearly breast cancer examination yet, do it now! I did mine last month and its always a relief to hear all’s well.

Todays’s card was made using the Ruffled ribbon die from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Breast Cancer Awareness products. Michele, the owner of CAS-ual Fridays, designed them when she was battling with her own cancer. You can read her story here.

This card could have been very easy to make, IF i knew what I was going to do when I started! But since I didn’t, what I did was first stamp a piece of card stock with the sentiment LOVE from the Flower Power stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays. Once it was dry, I coloured it with Kuretake Gansai Tambi pearl pink watercolour paint. I cut it with the Ruffled Ribbon die and put it aside. I then proceeded to stamp my white card base with the same LOVE stamp, making sure that they lined up with the words on my die cut ribbon as I was going to adhere my Ribbon onto the card and I wanted to make sure everything lined up!

See what I mean! I could have just started by stamping my whole card with the sentiment, THEN cut the Hope ribbon from it and inlaid it afterwards, would have been so much easier!

Anyway, I hope you like it! Do pop over to my “sistahs” to see what lovely reminders they made just to make sure you check yourself, or get yourself checked! It could save your life!

Thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow for another card, this time for the Encouragement challenge over at the Calling All Sistahs blog.
