As promised, I’m sharing with you 2 cards I made using my new stash I got the last 2 months. Today’s card is made from the really cute critter stamps from Clearly Besotted and I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut them. I also discovered a miracle pen to make all my colour pencil colouring look like copic colouring…meaning shiny & smooth!
My first card is one I’ve been thinking about making for ages, yet once it was finished, I was quite disappointed. You know like a good book that didn’t materialise into a good movie… but the opposite in this case as I had a whole different image in my head but once on paper… Well at least theres room for progress! 😉 I water coloured the whole scene with my Zig clean color real brushes using the sun and hedgehogs from Clearly Besotted and the trees/house border die from Stamplorations.
These stamps come with the front and back so I created a night scene for the inside of the card! The sky was created with watercolours. I kinda messed up the heat embossing of my sentiment as my white Wow embossing powder has become polluted with clear embossing powder so I had to write in the missing parts…
My next card is with the penguins in the same stamp set and this was very quick to make. I wanted to make the penguins in an igloo on a patch of water in the centre, so I first lined up a white card stock and my white card base together and cut the scallop circle with MFT stitched scallops die, to make sure they lined up when I had to adhere them together. I then embossed the white card stock with a folder from We R Memory Keepers, which is part of a gently used bundle I got from Virginia from Yes,Virginia. Thanks again Virginia for allowing your stamps to come to a new home! I used an acetate from Hero Arts to create the window and glued the penguin on it.
For the inside, I dropped some Brushos crystal paint powders and sprayed it with water to get that splatter, let it dry before I carefully lined up the backs of the penguins so it would fall directly under the penguins on the front of the card and glued them on the inside of the card. I wrote the sentiment in free hand to finish. I coloured both penguins with my Prisma color pencils and to get that shiny look, I used Prismacolor colorless blender!. Watch the quick video below to see the difference!
So I hope you liked my cute critter cards! Tomorrow I will hopefully share some more colouring I’ve been doing as part of the classes I’ve been taking at Kit and Clowder and an amazing watercolour book I just got too!
Thanks for stopping by and for leaving me such kind comments!
