New Design Team Member – Addicted to Stamps and More

addicted to stamps

I’m so excited to announce that I am now a Design Team member for one of my favourite challenge blogs, Addicted to Stamps and More!!! I was so touched and honoured when Kylie accepted me into her team of incredibly talented designers and I just hope I can do justice to my fellow team members.

Holiday wisemen

For our first challenge of the year, the theme is “Holiday” so join in with any crafty make with a holiday theme, like Christmas, if you’re not sick of making Christmas cards yet ;), or any other holiday, or even related to a holiday you’ve been on. As my hubby is from Madrid, Spain, I decided to make a card celebrating the Spanish holiday “Los Reyes Magos”, which is celebrated on the 6th of January. That is when the Spanish traditionally exchange gifts, not at Christmas. It means the “Three Wisemen” or the 3 Kings in the Bible who brought Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to the baby Jesus.

I made a Shadow Box card using a design I purchased from Lori Whitlock and cut with my Silhouette Portrait. I painted the backdrop with my Brushos and sponged in the “sand” with Momento dew drop ink. The front of the card was painted with Prima Marketing Metallic Accents. The sentiment stamp from Penny Black is a little too old now and some of the letters don’t stamp well, as I found out too late, so I had to fill in afew letters with a black marker, sorry about that.

Lori Whitlock’s designs are not originally shadow box cards but I added a hole at the back  of the card in my Silhouette program before I cut it, and you can now add a small led light behind to light up the card.

As the sentiment says All the Stars light our way to Peace, I wanted to be abit provocative in this photo above! 😉 I do believe that every religion essentially is about Love and doing good, but sometimes we forget that.

Well I hope you liked my card and I would love to know what you think of it! Do pop over to the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge blog and see the other wonderful creations my teammies made for your viewing pleasure and leave them some love too!

Thanks for stopping by!
