The Sisterhood of Crafters – Frames!

sisterhood

Hi all! Hows the beginning of 2018 been for you so far? Its been hectic for me as we are still in the midst of moving houses. I am writing this post sitting on the floor in our empty, except for junk/not junk, former house as we still don’t have internet in our new house due to what I will call a “comedy of errors”, except its not so funny.  Great news is that I got a whole room for my crafting activities, (Woohoo!) and I will post a few pics of the set up below.

I’m here today to tell you about our first challenge of 2018 over at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog where we have a fun challenge as Diane has chosen the theme “Frames”. So I hope to see your creations using any kind of frames on them!

Frame

I made a card using a frame from My Favorite Things scallop frame die which I also dotted with a gold pen. The sentiment from Altenew was stamped in Versamark on a black stitched rectangle card using a die by Sue Wilson, then heat embossed with black and gold Wow embossing powder. The die cut wreath was cut from a gold painted cardstock using a Penny Black die. All of the above was adhered onto a piece of vellum which is covering a stencilled brick wall.

I used a textured paste from Shimmerz paints called Dazzlerz ,which does not go on smooth and is kinda gritty like a brick wall, through a stencil from My Favorite Things. As you can see I was rather messy in the stencilling, which is why I added vellum over it in the end!

This card is going out to my mother as her birthday was on the 6th of January, except in the move, her present and card was packed off somewhere, so hopefully I’ll find it in time for her birthday next year! LoL!

As promised, afew pics of my new craft room. I’m not sure what possessed me to paint it pink (salmon actually) as I’m not a pink sort of girl, even my daughter’s bedroom was painted green and yellow when she was born… but I do like it, luckily! All the furniture from Ikea was “reclaimed” from rooms around our former house, yet no one is missing anything! That is a testimony to how well I managed get rid of half our stuff during the move! 😉 I’m not sure about crafting on my daughter’s former “zebra” table though but I have another back up table if needed! I also added a bed in my room, just for late night crafting when I’m too tired to climb the three floors to our bedroom. 😉

I’ll post more pics once I unpack my stuff. I realise that I now have more craft room supplies than clothes! In the meantime, I do hope to see your wonderful creations over at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge Blog, and while you’re there, do leave my other “sistahs” some love too!

Thanks for stopping by!
