Creative with Stamps – Flag

Hello all and its already the 1st of July, well into the 2nd half of the year already! Where does the time go by? Its also the beginning of a new challenge at Creative with Stamps and the theme for this month is “Flag”. We have prizes from our sponsor Pattie’s Creations so we hope you will join us and we can admire your amazing creations in the link up!

As you are reading this, I am somewhere in France, on our way to Madrid, where we will be spending all summer to visit my hubby’s family. I brought my Mac, my watercolours, colour pencils & all my Never been used stamps, so that I won’t have a choice but to use them!

Anyhoo, for this post, I created it in advance, using a digital stamp from Pattie’s Creations called “Beach Cabana Trio”. I know being July and the theme being “Flag”, most Americans will create something to celebrate their Independence Day , which did you know was actually voted by Congress on the 2nd of July…. But since I’m not American and I don’t live in America & don’t come from or lived in countries who’s citizens are very patriotic (I think France & Germany only sing their National Anthems during football matches, so quite alot at the moment, although not so much for Germany anymore ;)…) I decided to use a beach flag!

I printed the digi stamp directly onto Clairefontaine 250gm watercolour paper & created a beach scene with my Zig clean color real brushes. I had so much fun giving the Cabanas a badly painted look, even though one small part of me was screaming in protest when I made the paints run down the roofs, LoL! I also wanted them to look old but the Zigs are so vibrant it was quite difficult.

I chose the sentiment from The Ton’s “Wishful Wildflowers” set as I felt there was something poignant but happy at the same time about this scene. How does this card make you feel?

Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you’ll stop over at Creative with Stamps and see what my team mates have created for your inspiration and leave them a little love too. Happy Summer everyone! (& Winter for those down South)
