Hi all! For my second post for today, I’m sharing a card I made for our challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters where our “sistah” Debbie has chosen the theme “Use stitched dies”. I look forward to seeing your creations and you have until Sunday 9th December to link them up.
I actually thought the theme was to use stitched stamps so I took out my Simon Says Stamp “Even More Spring Flowers” stamp set and stamped and heat embossed them with white WoW embossing powder before giving them a quick water-colouring. I didn’t spend much time over this as I wanted it light and fresh looking, but I did spend time, masking and stamping and heat embossing each individual flower and leaf!
I used my new Daniel Smith extrafine watercolours and I just love all the colours they have! I painted some thin violet sprigs as I felt it needed a little more movement and added red splatters too. The sentiment comes from The Ton and the stitched scallop border frame die comes from My Favorite Things. Phew! Luckily I used that die if not I would have been off theme! You can’t see it but I added clear acetate between the scallop frame and my water-coloured panel and raised the border frame with foam adhesive so it looks more like a framed painting.
Well I hope you liked my card and that you’ll pop over to The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog to see the other gorgeous creations my “sistahs” have created just to inspire you to make something with stitched dies and share it with us in the link up.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
